This series of drawing are made by meticulous handwork replicating the surface texture of hessian. The first stage was to produce an image of a flat piece of fabric. The shape of a bodice pattern was drawn on this digitally made fabric and then the pattern 'cut out' as is the process in making a garment. The image takes on the sense of a 'real' piece of fabric.
Darts were created by digitally 'folding' the drawn fabric and the shaping emerged as happens when making an actual bodice.
In adding creases, shadows and drawing on stitching details the bodice take on the appearance and shape of having been worn.
